GraphCanvas

overview

About the project

When I was a child, I was obsessed with drawing on graph paper. I would draw these cityscapes on graph paper so frequently, that I began to tape them together. To this day, I have a long scroll of taped together graph paper with a sprawling cityscape that I drew as a kid. I wanted an app that captured that art style for me.

Goal

My goal was to recreate my physical process digitally. Each canvas is an 8.5" x 11" sheet of graph paper. Users can draw grid-aligned and diagonal lines, paint within the grid, adjust the grid size, add sheets one at a time to any side, and change the orientation of the entire canvas.

What I learned
